Sandy is a Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Following her degree in Business, she trained in Psychology in Queensland and NSW. Her training includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a powerful new psychotherapy based on cutting-edge research into how the human mind works. It has been clinically proven to be successful in a wide range of psychological problems. The aim is to help you create a rich, full and meaningful life (values) and teaching/practicing a set of practical skills to handle difficult situations.
She has also acquired specific training in Chronic pain, Gambling, Family and couple therapies, and through her workin the public and private mental health, youthand welfare sectors, also developed specialities in mental health promotion/education (Post Graduate qualification) and Suicide Prevention.
Sandy prides herself in being approachable and practical throughout the treatment offered, and can work with a range of challenges: anxiety, trauma, self/shame, depression, stress, bullying, emotions/anger/grief, sleep, and suicidal thoughts.
Sandy is also interested in improving mental health through healthy behaviours and relaxation, and looks afterher own wellbeing through herown ‘intermittent’ yoga practice!
